REV. HANNAH ELYSE CORNTHWAITE (SHE/THEY)
hannah was born and raised on a small island in Alaska. She studied Pre Med & History (late antiquity and early church history) at Northwestern College, Iowa and attended seminary at Church Divinity School of the Pacific, Berkeley. She remains deeply interested in the early church mothers and fathers as well as disability ethics, indigenous spirituality, and spirituality + trauma.
She was ordained to the priesthood in May of 2015. Right after ordination, she moved to Beijing, China to serve as the pastor at Congregation of the Good Shepherd, an ecumenical congregation and try to learn Mandarin. In the summer of 2017, she returned to her San Francisco home to be chaplain & director of ministry at Ecumenical House at SFSU where she created GoodWorks Café that served free lunches to students. hannah is an aspirant with the Companions of Dorothy the Worker, spiritual companions in the queer community.
As well as serving at Cyprian’s, hannah supports a Cardiovascular and Data Science & Technology investigator and her lab, as well as the Histology/Microscopy Core at Gladstone Institutes.
She holds a deep love for the outdoors, yoga, flyfishing, the SF Giants, reading, coffee, and her pup Ziggy. Over the pandemic, she tapped into the art of her ancestors and learned how to bead.
